Sr Staff Fuels Engineer – Core Design / Neutronics

As a Sr Staff Fuels Engineer you will Perform advanced technical/engineering problem solving in the development of methodologies to analyze core reloads (core design/neutronics). You will be responsible for technical decisions. Possesses excellent knowledge in functional discipline and its practical application and has detailed knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations.

Alongside this you will be familiar with codes and methods associated with core design/neutronics (e.g. CASMO, SIMULATE, ANC, PRISM, PANACEA, MICROBURN-B2, and/or equivalents). Possesses solid computer skills including the usage Office Products, competent in the LINUX working environment, and programming skills / scripting.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • B. S. degree in Nuclear Engineering or related science or Professional Engineering Registration
  • Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience and exceptional performance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional Engineering Registration, advanced technical degree or Coursework.
  • Qualified Nuclear Engineer (QNE) / Reactor Engineering Qualification
  • Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) / SRO Certification
  • Experience with Next Generation / Small Modular Reactors

Your Tasks

  • Provide in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage and implement nuclear engineering analysis, activities, and programs.
  • Provide technical expertise and consultation through direct involvement to identify and resolve nuclear fuel related problems.
  • Provide complete task management of nuclear engineering issues.
  • Perform nuclear engineering tasks as assigned by supervision applying engineering principles.
  • Accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work ensuring proper configuration management and assuring that standard design criteria, practices, procedures, and codes are used in preparation of plans and specifications.
  • Perform independent research, reviews, studies, and analyses in support of technical projects and programs.
  • Recommend new concepts and techniques to improve performance, simplify operations, reduce costs, or comply with changes in codes or regulations.
  • Provide technical expertise and consultation through direct involvement to identify and resolve problems.
  • Provides initial or complete task management of nuclear engineering issues.
  • Supports plant design modifications, testing and problem solving, as necessary.
  • Assure all nuclear engineering products prepared or overseen are in accordance with applicable safety analyses, industry codes, and all regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, implement and coordinate functional supervisory activities including, but not limited to, personnel, budgetary accountabilities and planning goals with respect to Nuclear Fuels personnel.

  • Recognized as an Industry Expert in area or discipline.
  • Performs independently in specialty area and actively imparts knowledge to others (established technical mentor).
  • Has wide latitude to make technical decisions within accountabilities.
