HSQE Manager

The HSQE Manager is responsible for understanding the application of Health and Safety at Work, keeping up to date and compliant with HSE legislation, and advising on all health, safety and welfare matters to ensure the company complies with its statutory obligations.
Maintain compliance for ISO Accreditation (through audit or otherwise):45001;2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management, 14001:2015 Environmental Management, and 9001:2015 Quality Management systems

Requirements

• Proven track record and reputation of HSE delivery within large rail/power/energy associated projects and/or companies
• Current detailed knowledge of HSE legislation and requirements for both UK and France
• Delivery of HSE reporting to a high-quality standard
• Demonstrated ability to enforce safety procedures and preparedness to stop a job as required
• Full membership of an appropriate HSE professional association or institute (e.g. International Institute of Risk and Safety Management – IIRSM)
• Hold relevant safety related accreditations such as IOSH, NEBOSH
• Knowledge and experience of managing audits undertaken by certifying bodies such as Lloyds, Bureau Veritas,
• Knowledge of the safety requirements associated with working in a railway environment
• A strong ability to coach, mentor, and train effectively at all levels
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Takes ownership and responsibility of decisions and actions
• Takes responsibility towards the community and the environment
• Proactive in highlighting safety concerns and where known, offering solutions to minimise safety risk
• Capacity to innovate in the application of HSE Regulations
• Promote safety excellence, at all times
• Flexible approach and willingness to complete tasks outside of normal role scope on occasion
• A collaborative work ethic is essential
• Uphold the reputation of the company, at all times
• Travel to the site/office is required
