Environmental Manager

Environmental & Social Manager shall bring hands-on field experience to help ensure that all projects deliver on their commitments and obligations in relation to environmental and social aspects.







This position involves identifying, mitigating, and managing environmental and social impacts and ensuring compliance to international standards such as the IFC Performance Standards, WBG EHS Guidelines and the Equator Principles. It also involves management and improvement of the Company’s global Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS). The position will interact proactively and engage with all types of stakeholders, spanning from local communities and respective authorities to international consultants, lenders and the Company’s business partners and internal business unit teams.

Your Tasks

  • Ensure compliance with the Company’s Policy,
  • Help ensure project compliance with the IFC Performance Standards and lead dialogue with project lenders with respect to E&S discipline matters
  • Lead development and coordination of Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs) and executing on Environmental and Social Action Plans (ESAPs)
  • Support appropriate execution of project related plans including but not limited to: Environmental and Social Management Plans, Stakeholder Engagement Plan, Ecological Management Plan, Occupational Health and Safety Plan, Waste Management Plan, Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan
  • Ensure implementation and monitoring of different environmental and social commitments and activities required for project compliance
  • Prepare presentation material and occasionally represent
  • Perform site visits and participate in team meetings with partners as requ

Your Profile

  • University degree within social science, biology, resource economics or environmental/climate science
  • Minimum 5-7 years or more of work experience with environmental and social risk management of infrastructure or energy projects,
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement, resettlement, and management at different levels
  • Fluent in English, spoken and written
  • Experience in project management, including leading small teams and working with senior stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of and practical experience working with international environmental and social standards including the IFC Performance Standards
  • Experience in handling social conflicts
  • Solution-oriented and decision-making ability
  • High social and intercultural competence
  • Ability to plan, organize, direct, coordinate, execute, monitor
